That thing you Do

Guy Patterson ( my favourite!!) T.B.Player, Lenny Haise( the fool), James Mattingly and FAYE

That thing you do is by a band The Wonder in the Movie directed by Tom Hanks. He's also featured as the Band's Agent, Mr White. This show is a hit in 1996, picturing the life of 1964. Some said this was a replication of the Success of THE BEATLES in real life.

Anyway their hit THAT THING YOU DO became a phenomeon. Maybe i'll put that song up too. Lol

Character Bio:

GUY Patterson
With his ever-present Foster Grant sunglasses, Guy Patterson was The Wonders' drummer. Considered by many to be The Wonders' heart and soul, Guy joined the band following an unfortunate accident involving original drummer, Chad. Guy's hard-driving beat immediately helped propel The Wonders' smash hit, That Thing You Do!, to the top of the charts. When not touring and recording with the band, Guy enjoys listening to jazz legends like Del Paxton and Willy Walker, and is reported to have seen the movie "Spartacus" too many times to count.
Before joining the band, Guy worked in his parents' appliance store. But, at night, he used to play jazz drums in the store basement. His family, especially his father, was very upset with the idea of having a drummer son, but when his son's show was broadcast on TV from Hollywood, they were all at home watching...
He was the most disappointed when The Wonders broke up. He had a girlfriend named Tina back in Erie, who eventually fell in love with her dentist. When Jimmy and Faye broke up, Guy realized he was in love with her. Faye and Guy married in 1965 and currently they run a music school where Guy teaches jazz composition.

Jimmy

His real name was James Mattingly II, lead vocals and rhythm guitarist. Jimmy took music and composing very seriously. He wrote The Wonders' hit song: That Thing You Do! and several ballads, which he and the group had planned to record, following their nationwide tour. Jimmy's composing talents first surfaced in high school where he wrote and performed several songs for a city-wide talent showcase in Erie, garnering him considerable acclaim and attention.
Much to the dismay of his many female admirers, Jimmy had been dating The Wonders' costume mistress,
Faye, for two and a half years. After The Wonders came to an end, he continued to produce records for Play-Tone with his new band: The Heardsmen. When The Wonders were still an unknown no-name band, that was the name Jimmy wanted the band to have. Jimmy was also the main reason the band broke up. As he wanted to record his own original, ballads, Mr. White wanted them to re-record old Play-Tone songs. This is what really drove Jimmy mad, making him quit the band.

Lenny

Leonard Haise, known as Lenny, was The Wonders' lead guitarist and lead vocal on Dance With Me Tonight. Like all his band mates, he is a native of Erie, Pennsylvania. An endless source of sardonic humor, Lenny enjoyed meeting his countless fans - especially those of the female persuasion. In fact, Lenny's pursuit of musical excellence was matched only by his search for that "special someone."
During the Mercyhurst Talent Show, Lenny was the first to enjoy and join the up-tempo version of That Thing You Do! right after Guyy started that cool beat... His background vocals that night gradually showed to Jimmy that they were on the right path. After the band broke up, he became a casino manager in Las Vegas and married several times. Currently, he's single...

T.B Player aka THE BASS PLAYER

Few thing we can say about this one. Even his fellow Wonders don't know The Bass Player's real name - and that's just one of the intriguing mysteries surrounding the youngest member of America's fastest-rising band. The wide-eyed musician does confess to a love of music and country, and is looking forward to serving his upcoming stint in the U.S. Marine Corps.
The Bass Player love The Chantellines, one of the Play-Tone groups. Unfortunately, he has to leave the band by the end of August, and wasn't able to be in the group's last and only TV show, The Hollywood Television Showcase, broadcasted live from Santa Monica to the whole country. After the band has ended, he has received a lot of badges of honour in the Marines, during Vietnam's War.

Faye

Originally, Faye was Jimmy's girlfriend. She was very important during The Wonders' tour, as their costume mistress. When the band was in Los Angeles and Hollywood, taking part on a movie and preparing for their live broadcast presentation, Faye got sick, and no one except Guy noticed.
It was also Faye who came up with the band's first name, The One-ders, during a garage rehearsal in Erie, before the talent show that would make them famous.
In the end, after the band broke up, Faye started dating Guy and finally they married and had four children. Currently, she and Guy run a jazz music school.
